The project was slow because of various reason including blockade of India over Nepal. Recently one documentry is released about Melamchi, most of the circumstances is described in this documentry.

Melamchi is comming soon | New documentry about Melamchi water supply project
Most awaited biggest project of Nepal, Melamchi water supply is about to end. Currently pipeline work is on progress. They have focused in distribution line on night also. This project will fulfill the demand of the water on Kathmandu.
